Paisley Park

Celebration 2017

By Simon Barber on April 30, 2017 — 1 min read

Between April 20-23, I was in Chanhassen, Minnesota, for Celebration 2017, an event at Prince’s Paisley Park complex celebrating the life and career of the artist on the first anniversary of his death. I attended alongside my Sodajerker partner Brian, who has written a detailed blog about the experience.

It was a wonderful trip which provided a lot of food for thought about Prince, about creating spaces conducive to creativity, and the challenges facing his estate in dealing with his vast collection of memorabilia, guitars, costumes, and of course the legendary vault.

I’ll be presenting my thoughts at the world’s first international conference on Prince in Salford in May 2017.

In the meantime, check out Brian’s post over at the Sodajerker website.
